The Politics of Programming

The questions raised at this working group will focus more on what I, as theatre programmer, want to programme and what I would never programme, rather than on restrictions due to budget constraints. In this group, we will discuss the ongoing dialogue with contemporary geopolitical conditions, the programmer’s view on the world, and how this is conveyed to the audience through programme selection. Where does this circle of communication close? What are the concrete principles of decision-making when creating a programme?
